Ben Burris Paving has been in the business for over four decades, serving communities across Maryland with reliable, high-quality work. They were ready for a modern website that would showcase their services and make it easier for local customers to find them online.

Their old site felt outdated, wasn’t performing well in search results, and didn’t highlight the full range of services they offer. So we got to work.

I teamed up with Ben’s son (also Ben!) to get a clear picture of their goals and day-to-day needs. Together, we built a mobile-friendly Squarespace site with organized service pages, strong local SEO, and a clean layout that makes it easy for customers to get in touch.

The new website for Ben Burris Paving features a modern design, improved usability, and SEO setup to boost their visibility on Google.

Here are the website changes we made:

  • Full website redesign migrating from Squarespace 7.0 to Squarespace 7.1 with a clean, mobile-friendly layout

  • Simplified navigation so customers can easily find services and contact info

  • SEO-optimized service and location pages targeting Maryland areas

  • Keyword research, optimized metadata, image alt text, and strong internal links

  • Custom HTML and CSS touches for extra flexibility

  • A new blog section to support future content marketing

  • Integrated maps, sharing tools, and branded visuals for a polished look

  • Post-launch setup, including Google Analytics, site speed checks, and an in-depth guide for the client to manage updates on their own

Results & Impact


Since launching the new website, Ben Burris Paving has seen a big boost in online visibility and customer reach:

  • Clicks to the site more than quadrupled—going from just 20 to over 90 in a three-month period. That means more people are not just seeing the site, but clicking through to learn more.

  • Search visibility massively improved, with the site now showing up in over 16,000 Google searches—up from just 413 before the redesign.

  • Click-through rate jumped from 0.6% to 4.8%, meaning people are far more likely to visit the site when it appears in search results.

  • Local keyword targeting helped get the business onto the first page of Google for several important search terms—making it much easier for local customers to find and choose Ben Burris Paving.

The takeaway? A well-designed, SEO-optimized website doesn’t just look better, it helps customers reach you.
